Coimbatore: The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) members from Coimbatore met with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin and thanked him for the introduction of various innovative steps, as well as for bringing in strict measures and guidelines to curb the spread ofCovid-19 in Tamil Nadu and preventing the predicted third wave of Covid-19.
The President of ICCI, C Balasubramanian lauded the Tamil Nadu CM for fetching Rs.28,508 crores through Tamil Nadu First Destination for 49 Industrial projects and also for creating 83,482 employment opportunities. Talking about the 'Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam' initiative, the ICCI President stated that the scheme was the most important one and that it has been benefiting everyone, particularly elderly people.
He also thanked the Chief Minister for the introduction of 'Agri Budget' for the growth of agriculture and farmers, the Constitution of State Planning Commission and Committee for the revival of MSMEs under the Chairmanship of Dr. N Sunderadevan, and also the retrieval and recovering of temple lands belonging to Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department worth Rs. 1000 crores from the encroachers.
The ICCI President also assured the TN Chief Minister saying, "We have promised and assured our support and co-operation to the Chief Minister to make his vision to transform the State into a $1 trillion economy by 2030 a reality. On behalf of the trade and industry sectors, and the people of this region, we have submitted a memorandum on the needs of infrastructure, ease of doing business and environment which are required for the comfortable living of the Coimbatore people."
