Due to landslides, the Nilgiris Mountain Rail Service has been suspended on Nov 11 and 12th. However, the NMR services between Coonoor – Ooty will be operated, as usual.
Owing to landslides and heavy rains, the Nilgiris Mountain Rail (NMR) services has been suspended for two days -- October 11 and 12.
All passengers enroute in NMR today from Mettupalayam to Ooty were sent back in special buses after the train was cancelled mid-way due to a major landslide between Kallar – Hill grove railway stations.
The following train service is cancelled for two days, October 11-12:
1. Train No.06136 Mettupalayam – Udagamandalam special train of 11.10.2021 and 12.10.2021, scheduled to leave Mettupalayam at 07.10 hrs has been fully cancelled.
2. Train No.06137 Udagamandalam – Mettupalayam special train of 11.10.2021 and 12.10.2021, scheduled to leave Udagamandalam at 14.00 hrs., has been fully cancelled.
However, the NMR services between Coonoor – Udagamandalam will be operated as usual, said a release from Salem division of Southern railways.
