Coimbatore: The fifth phase of the mega vaccination camp began at 7 am on Sunday in Coimbatore city, and the public gathered at the camps to get their doses of vaccination.
A total of 1475 camps have been organized and 2 lakh people are targeted to inoculate. 92% of the public have received their first jab while 33% have been inoculated both doses. The district administration has informed that those who are in need of their second jabs shall visit the camps organized.
The District Collector GS Sameeran who inspected the camp at VOC Ground, stated that 'Around 3 lakh eligible people in Coimbatore are in need of the second dose of vaccination. The district administration has been conducting a door-to-door check, announcements are being made through loudspeakers in the corporation areas through autorickshaws about the vaccine camps'
