Voting for by-elections in Coimbatore district begins today

Elections for 13 local bodies are being held and a total of 51 people are competing in it and 77,000 people are going to vote.


Coimbatore: Voting for the rural local by-election in Coimbatore district is going on today. Following this, the necessary materials were sent to the polling booths.

Elections for 13 local bodies including District Panchayat 3rd Ward Councilor in Coimbatore District, Anaimalai Divansapudur, Pollachi South South Kumarapalayam, Grama Panchayat Head Post, Grama Panchayat Councillor Belladhi 3rd Ward, Thekkampatti 15th Ward, Velliyankadu 10th Ward, No. 10 Muttur 2nd Ward Sirapalayam, 4th Ward Gurudampalayam, 9th Ward Zameen Muthur, 6th Ward Kallipalayam, 5th Ward Bogampatti, 6th Ward Madampatti, 3rd Ward are going on today.

A total of 51 people are competing in it and 77,000 people are going to vote. A total of 128 polling booths have been set up for this. Of these, 27 polling stations were declared tense. Cameras are fitted and recording takes place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Necessary security arrangements have been made to have the recording. The polling booths have all the facilities including a tent, drinking water and toilet facilities. Security arrangements have also been made to prevent crowds within 200 meters of the polling station from engaging in activities such as forcing voters to vote. Election officials said, violators will be prosecuted,
