The CCMC Commissioner undertook a field inspection of the city's West Zone for relocating the weekly market.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara inspected the areas in West Zone of Coimbatore, on Thursday.

Demands were placed for an alternative space for setting up weekly markets as the current marketplace occupies land on the roads and hence road safety is jeopardized. Following this demand, the CCMC Commissioner conducted a field inspection to set up the weekly market at an alternative place.
The CCMC Commissioner also inspected the encroached areas near Shivanjali and the private gas godown after it was stated in the road safety meeting that the main road has been occupied. He also reviewed the encroachments and instructed that the encroachments be removed. The CCMC Commissioner also inspected the expansion of the project road near the Agricultural University after which he visited Ward No.14, following a complaint that sewage water has been flowing into the town at Velandipalayam, Kovilmedu area. He ordered immediate removal of the debris and ensured there was free flow of water in the sewers. He also instructed workers and officials to maintain cleanliness at the Vadavalli Bus terminal, and the swimming pool and gym at Gandhi Park in Ward 24.

The Assistant Commissioner of the Coimbatore Corporation T Sivasubramaniyam, Divisional Engineer of Highways Matheswaran, Assistant Executive Engineer Hemalatha, Assistant Engineers and Corporation officials were present along with the CCMC Commissioner for the inspection.
