The accused had already been in prison for a similar crime and was released under bail.
Valparai: The Valparai Police have arrested a man for selling ganja in Valparai. As per the orders of the District SP S Selvanagarathinam, patrols and raids have been conducted in the city for curbing the illegal sale of banned products.
Based on this order, Valparai Inspector Karpagam and her team consisting of Sub-Inspector Karthikeyan and other police officials raided Kamaraj Nagar in Valparai.
The team of police officials appropriated 100 kg of ‘ganja’ from a man during the raid. The accused has been identified as Das (50) who had been arrested earlier too and jailed for illegal sale of ganja. Das was out on bail and yet continued to sell ganja. Das has been arrested and produced at court. He has been sentenced to 15-day judicial custody.
