Coimbatore: Swarga Foundation released the 7th edition of the 'I’m Special' Calendar for 2022 in Coimbatore, as part of its 7th anniversary celebrations. The theme for the 2022 calendar is '“Change Makers.'
The 12 'Change Makers' this year who have looked beyond themselves as disability-rights activists, entrepreneurs, artists, writers, professionals, sportspersons, academicians, beauty pageant winners and more have been featured in the calendar. Most of these 'Change Makers' have won accolades from the State and Central Governments and also lead successful personal lives as a parent, spouse or sibling. They challenge societal norms and are the Harbingers of Change. The calendar also aims to create awareness about inclusion in mainstream society.
A source from Swarga Foundation shared with SimpliCity that all proceeds from the sales of the calendars will be used to set up a physiotherapy centre for patients who are affected with neuro-muscular disorders.

Swarga Foundation is a 80G-certified charitable trust founded seven years ago on October 14 by Swarnalatha who is affected with multiple sclerosis and her husband Guruprasad. The mission of the Foundation is to improve the lives of individuals with multiple sclerosis and other neuro-muscular disorders by increasing awareness among the general public and thereby transforming the general attitude in society towards differently-abled individuals.

The Founder, core members and volunteers of the Swarga Foundation are involved in creating awareness about multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders. The Foundation also works on bringing wellness to patients by assisting them with rehabilitation. Besides this, Swarga Foundation also works on converting disability to ability, motivate individuals to the possibilities of life, increase inclusion of the differently-abled into mainstream society, counsel patients, caregivers and family members on coping with disability to lead fulfilling lives.
The 7th anniversary celebration of Swarga Foundation was a virtual event which was graced by Dr. Santhalinga Marudasala Adikalar, Holy Kailash Heritage Meikandar Hierarchy Perur Adheenam Pontiff. The Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran was the Chief Guest and Dr. Anusha Ravi, CEO, Park Group of Institutions was the special guest at the event.
