Coimbatore: The Swachh Bharat initiative launched by the Central Government is being welcomed across the country and steps are being taken to create awareness among the people in both rural and urban areas. As part of this, a resolution was taken at the Coimbatore District Collector's Office in Coimbatore on Wednesday to create awareness among people. Government officials took a pledge led by the Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran.

Various awareness programs are being conducted in Coimbatore district on behalf of the Public Relations Office of the Central Government. Accordingly, the District Collector in Coimbatore today launched the Swachh Bharat signature movement. According to the movement, the Coimbatore district administration, the Corporation administration, the police and private college students will join hands to clean up the city. Medicinal saplings are also being planted in every primary health center.
More than 50 government employees, including Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara and Training Collector Saranya Ramachandran attended the event.
