R S Puram Police Inspector Parimaladevi has filed a case and on investigation discovered that 2 employees who were earlier sacked and 2 employees of the rice shop were responsible for the theft.
Coimbatore: Rice bags worth Rs. 20 lakh stored in a Coimbatore rice godown in R S Puram were reportedly stolen. The police have registered a case and are searching for four men.
Krishnakumar owns a rice shop on Thiyagaraya New Road in Coimbatore and his wife Geetha runs the rice shop. Since there was a lull in business for the past one year owing to the Coronavirus pandemic, the rice bags were stocked in the godown. When the owner recently calculated the number of stored rice bags, it came to light that Rs. 20 lakh worth rice bags including basmati rice had been stolen.
The theft was reported to the R S Puram police. When Inspector Parimaladevi filed a case and conducted an investigation, it was discovered that two employees who had been sacked from working in the rice shop and two other current employees of the rice shop have been responsible for the theft.
