Coimbatore District Roadside Traders Association and CITU request interest-free loan of Rs 15,000, coronavirus relief fund of Rs. 1000 be extended to roadside vendors without identity cards and providing Prime Minister's Atmanirbar Fund of Rs. 1000 to all roadside vendors unconditionally


Coimbatore: In Coimbatore district, thousands of traders have their livelihoods dependent on roadside trolleys and floor stalls selling fruits, vegetables, toys, flowers and textiles. Moreover, in times of calamity they were greatly affected and pushed into hardship without income.



Therefore, roadside vendors in Coimbatore district who do not have an identity card must be given one and should be given an interest-free loan of Rs 15,000 as stated in the election manifesto. They also demanded that the Coronavirus relief of Rs. 1000 be extended to roadside vendors without identity cards and that under the Prime Minister's Atmanirbar Fund of Rs. 1000 be provided unconditionally to all roadside vendors. With CITU flags in hand, roadside vendors stood in front of the district collector's office chanting their demands.
