Speaking to the press at the District BJP office in Coimbatore, the BJP Head addressed various issues.
Pollachi: BJP State President Annamalai met with reporters at the District BJP office in Siddhaputhur, in Coimbatore.
'The incident in UP is tragic and the UP Chief Minister has assured action on those who initiated violence during the protest. The families of the deceased will receive Government assistance which the Chief Minister also ensured. The ones who drove the car and ran over the farmers shall be arrested and punished. The opposition shall not draw attention to itself by making use of this incident.'
In response to the issue of Agri Laws, Annamalai said, 'No farmer has protested in Tamil Nadu against the Agricultural Act and eggs and poultry are being purchased on contract basis in the State. This shows that the farmers have accepted the laws. If any grievances are highlighted, the Government is ready to make the necessary changes.'
He further stated that all the safety practices based on international standards have been followed in Kudangulam. 'It is clearly for political reasons that issues are being raised. GST imposition on fuel prices is the Centre’s stand to bring petrol and diesel under controlled consumption. The Petroleum Minister has been speaking of this since 2016. As far as the T23 tiger issue is concerned, the issue has to be approached scientifically. We should abide by the decision of the Forest Department,' reiterated Annamalai. He also mentioned that a dharna will be held in temples in Tamil Nadu at 11 am on October 7.
More than 100 youth from various organizations were at the BJP office along with Annamalai, BJP Youth Wing District President Mahesh, District President Nandakumar, General Secretaries Ramesh Kumar, Krishna Prasad NaveenIlango of Youth Wing, State spokesperson Sabari Girish and others.
