A robber involved in a series of robberies in Pollachi, Coimbatore has been charged under Goondas Act. Upon orders of District Collector Sameeran Gopal was imprisoned under the Goondas Act.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Collector GS Sameeran has ordered the arrest of a person involved in ongoing crimes in the Pollachi area of Coimbatore. According to a press release issued by the Coimbatore District Police, District Superintendent of Police Selvanagarathinam has recommended the arrest of Gopal alias Selvakumar, who was involved in a series of robberies in the Pollachi Mahalingapuram police station area.
Following this, District Collector Sameeran ordered Gopal to be imprisoned under the Goondas Act. Gopal was subsequently imprisoned.
