As part of the regular patrolling to curb the illegal sale of liquor and banned tobacco products, the Valparai Police paid a sudden visit to the markets in the hill town
Valparai: A surprise raid was carried out at the Valparai markets by the Valparai Police on Tuesday. The police personnel inspected the shops for the sale of any illegal banned products.
Valparai Inspector Karpagam led team has been taking various measures to curb the sale of banned tobacco, illicit liquor sale, and lottery tickets. Conducting sudden raids in the shops in the town has been a part of the measure.

Similarly, Inspector Karpagam, Sub-Inspector Karthikeyan, and special Sub-Inspectors conducted a raid at the new markets in the central area. The shop owners were warned of serious action if illegal sale of any banned products were found.
The shop owners, employees were informed that wearing masks was mandatory and that the customers visiting the shops must be directed to wear masks to prevent the spread of virus
