Coimbatore: A man was arrested in Coimbatore for hoarding 101 kg of banned tobacco products that he was planning to sell illegally. The police seized the tobacco products and the two-wheeler used for the transport of the illegal tobacco products.
As per the orders of District Superintendent of Police, S Selvanagarathinam, a city-wide raid was conducted. After a tip-off that sale of banned tobacco products was on at an area within Sulur Police Station limits, Inspector Madhayyan rushed to the spot and nabbed Mariraj (29) of Arogyapuram, Sulur.
101 kg of tobacco products and his two-wheeler were confiscated from him during the investigation. A case has been registered in Sulur Police station. Mariraj has been lodged in judicial custody.
