Coimbatore: The corporation has deployed 600 field workers in 100 wards to check the spread of mosquito-borne mosquitoes.
A corporation official said, "Last September alone, 19 people were affected by dengue fever in the corporation areas alone." No one has been affected so far in October. However, as a precautionary measure, 600 people have been deployed to check the accumulation of rainwater in houses and buildings to preventmosquito breeding. Preventing mosquito breeding can control the spread of dengue. The assigned staff will go to all the houses and engage in monitoring. Action will also be taken to impose fines on those responsible for the production of mosquitoes."
