Saravanampatti police rushed to the burgled house and seized fingerprints, and surveillance camera footage.
Coimbatore: Dinakaran (44), son of Krishnaraj of Velavan Nagar, Manikarampalayam near Ganapathy in Coimbatore is an iron merchant.
He lives with his wife and two children. After visiting the Thiruchendur temple along with his family on October 3, Dinakaran had returned home at 2 am on Tuesday and was shocked to see the front door of his house ajar.

On rushing into his house, Dinakaran was shocked to find his living room sprayed with chilli powder, and the bedroom door broken into.

A total of 131 sovereign of gold jewellery, including a 10 sovereign 'manga' necklace, 10 sovereign gold chain, 28 sovereign bangle sets, 10 sovereign rings had been looted from the locker. Dinakaran immediately informed the Saravanampatti police station. Police officials rushed to the spot and collected fingerprints and the surveillance camera footage.
The audacious burglary has caused great fear among residents in the area. Public have requested the police for protection saying that their neighbourhoods can be safe only if the police carry out proper patrols at night.
