CCMC Commissioner inspects Central Zone areas in Coimbatore

Community hall, Anganwadi in ward 53 inspected


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara inspected areas in the Central Zone in the city.

During his visit to the 52nd Ward, Dr. Radhakrishnan Road, the CCMC Commissioner primarily studied the attendance of the sanitary workers. He insisted that the workers segregate the waste from houses as degradable and non-degradable wastes and also ensure the rainwater drainage canals are free of debris for free flow of water. He urged the sanitary workers to raise continuous awareness on the spread of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and to ensure there is no water logging in and around houses and neighbourhoods. The CCMC Commissioner also insisted that all sanitary workers wear masks, sanitize themselves regularly and to get their vaccinations.



Further, he inspected the community hall constructed in Haripuram Area in Ward 53 with the funds allocated from the Legislators’ Development Fund at an estimate of ₹.30 lakhs. The Anganwadi center in the area was also inspected by the CCMC Commissioner.



The general allotment space at the Dhanalakshmi Nagar, Balaji Street of Ward 53, and Audis Street of Ward 72 were also inspected. He further inspected the quality of the tar road constructed in G M Nagar, Ward 74.



The Assistant Commissioner, Central Zone, Sundarajan, Assistant Executive Engineer, Prabhakaran, Regional Health Officer, Thirumal and other Corporation officials were present during the inspection.



The Corporation Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara also inspected the rainwater harvest tank constructed at the Main Complex at the Corporation office.
