Coimbatore: In Pollachi, Coimbatore district, 70 percent of workers employed in the coir manufacturing industry have been vaccinated.
In this regard, the Coconut Industry United Nations Development Program (United Nations Development Program) Advisor and member of the Central Government, Ropes Board, SK. Gautam said, "Pollachi plays an important role in the production of coir products in the Coimbatore district.
Coir Geo Oven Textiles, Coirwood, Decorative Products Made With Coconut Fiber, and Farming with Coco Peat are some of the products manufactured in the industry. Pollachi, Coimbatore district accounts for 50% of the country's total exports of coconut fiber, or Rs 2,000 crore. Similarly, Pollachi contributes Rs 5,000 crore to the domestic wholesale trade."
