Coimbatore:TECHQCwill celebrate their first anniversary on October 5th. One of the first campus queer collectives in Coimbatore, they have come a long way from when they started. Featuring the queer alumni of the Techqc, they launched the Queer alum series.

Through social media, they had a panel hoping to press on the issue of "Why queer spaces are important" on progressive cities like ours. With a fundraiser taking place, they created awareness on the importance of preferred pronouns by gifting pronoun badges to the people supporting them. The funds raised would go to the Trans kitchen located in Chennai.

From the formation a year ago, Tech QC has managed to create a very safe space for the queer community, aiding them with enthusiasm and kindness. Guiding people from a dark place of their life to the light, Tech QC has managed them deal with the issues of just belonging to the queer community. From social scrutiny to judgement, come what may they have managed to create a positive impact on a lot of people and the society.

They have been selected to be a part of the innovation marketplace program for gender equality, collectively organized by some big names such as Niti Aayog, Mash Project, UNDP and Ashoka University. The progress of their collective screams success. They've grown so much in so little time and it looks like they aren't planning to stop anytime soon. After all, everybody- queer or not, needs some good in their lives.
