The woman was rescued and taken to the police station in Racecourse for investigation.
Coimbatore: A 27-year-old woman tried to set herself up with fire at the collectorate on Friday before being rescued by the police officers on the spot.
The woman was then taken to the Police Station in Race Course for investigation. She revealed that she has been living in Coimbatore after she left her husband in Dharmapuri. She works for daily wages and that she is being denied of meeting her son who is currently under her husband’s custody.
The woman further stated she approached the commissioner’s office to file a complaint and that she carried kerosene all the way. She was however stopped right before she could light up herself. She is booked for attempt to suicide.
