Anti-corruption police seize ₹46000 during raids in 2 check posts near Pollachi

The anti-corruption police went on to raid check posts after receiving information that officers demand bribe during vehicle audits. The anti-corruption force also seized unaccounted money from a Sub-Registrar’s office in Nilgiris


Coimbatore: The Anti-corruption police caught hold of ₹46000 upon raids in two check posts and also unaccounted money was seized from the Sub-registrar’s office in Nilgiris.

Post receiving information that officers demand for cash during vehicle audits in check posts at state borders, the anti-corruption force raided check posts across Tamil Nadu last night.

The officers raided the regional transport office at Pollachi Gopalapuram check post. Documents were verified and an unaccounted amount of ₹21,600 was seized. The employees and officials of the regional transport office underwent investigation. Similarly, the officials raided the KG check posts and caught hold of Rs 25,000. An amount of Rs 46,200 was seized during the three-hour raid conducted

The anti-corruption force took on to raid the sub registrar's office adjacent to the Ooty taluk office in Nilgiris district after complaints were received stating cash was demanded for registration of deeds. Unaccounted money ₹.78,490 seized and certain documents were taken hold as well.

The Deputy Registrar Senthil Kumar and staff are being questioned with this regard.
