The Forest Department stated that there has been improvement in the tiger cub's health within two days of treatment.
Coimbatore: Two days ago, the Forest Department was informed that a tiger had been spotted roaming freely in broad daylight, at Mudis Tea Estate near Valparai, in Coimbatore district.
Following this, the Forest Department conducted an intensive search and caught a one-year old tiger cub which looked like it had been injured. The tiger cub was brought by the Anti Depredation Squad to the Anamalai Tiger Reserve Valparai Range, Rottikadai camp and treated there.
The medical team led by Prof. Muthukrishnan of the Tirunelveli Forest Department Veterinary Division has been providing intensive treatment for the tiger cub, and it has been kept in a cage and fed meat and water. Drugs are also being injected, with close monitoring being done by both the Medical and Forest Departments. The Forest Department has stated that there has been improvement seen in the tiger cub's health condition after treating it for the past two days since its capture.
