Coimbatore: The Anaimalai Police are investigating the abduction of a 5-month old girl near Anaimalai. Manikandan (35) from Mysore in Karnataka goes from village to village and sells old clothes to make a living. His wife is Sangeetha (27) and they have four children including a 5-month old baby girl. They had arrived at Anaimalai and were selling clothes at the Anaimalai Central Bus Stand next to Pollachi in Coimbatore district, for the past one week.
Manikandan had gone to buy food near the Anaimalai Central Bus Stand at 9:30 pm on September 28, while Sangeetha was sitting with the children. A person reportedly approached her and offered money to buy food, and convinced Sangeetha to leave the children with him while she went to buy food for the children. Whilst she was gone, the man kidnapped the 5-month old girl child with the help of another man on a two-wheeler and fled the scene.
