The road roko at Tirupur-Avinashi Road, near Kumar Nagar signal resulted in traffic congestion for over an hour.
Tirupur: Though there are over a 1000 families living in the 12th ward Murugampalayam area under Tirupur Corporation, the area is reportedly being supplied with drinking water only once in 15 days.
The residents of the area staged a road blockade on Thursday at Tirupur-Avinashi Road, near Kumar Nagar signal since no action had been initiated by Corporation officials in spite of repeated petitions.
The road blockade lasted for more than an hour and brought traffic to a complete standstill. The protesters dispersed after police and Corporation officials intervened to compromise.
