The conductor was suspended in 2015 on the grounds of not turning up for work on Republic Day, which was a Govt. holiday.
Coimbatore: A Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus was confiscated on Wednesday for refusal to comply with the Court order to reinstate a dismissed conductor.
N Subramaniam who worked as a conductor for TNSTC in Karumathampatti was suspended in the year 2015 on the grounds of not turning up for work on a Government holiday (January 26) and was eventually fired from his in 2016. N Subramaniam lodged a case with the Labour Court on September 7, 2021. The Court ruled in favour of N Subramanaiam and ordered TNSTC to reinstate N Subramaniam at TNSTC as a conductor along with salary arrears. Senior advocate A Subramanian had appeared on behalf of the conductor to plead his case.
However, after hearing case number EP 21/21 seeking implementation of the verdict and since TNSTC did not heed to the Court's verdict and comply with the order, the Court ordered for the Government bus TN 38 N 3570 to be confiscated. Subsequently, Court officials confiscated the Government bus (Route 11) which arrived at Coimbatore Railway Station at 1.35 pm on Wednesday and drove it to the Court premises.
