7 persons in various responsibilities in TMMK arrested for trying to extort 1 crore worth land. Inspector Kandasamy said police are investigating John Pandian's connection in the case and said action will be taken soon.
Seven members of the John Pandian party were arrested for going to a businessman in Coimbatore and trying to extort Rs 1 crore worth of property by brandishing a knife and claiming that the place belonged to them. Police are investigating any links with John Pandian.
Deepak Arora (39) is from Thondamuthur, Coimbatore is a Business owner. He bought a plot of land worth about Rs 1 crore in the Maniyakaranpalayam, Ganapathy area to set up a godown. This godown contained two-wheeler parts, a helmet and various items. Jayaraj (52) from Maniyakaranpalayam Punniyanaickenpalayam area, Santhosh (52) from Lakshmi Nagar, Jagan (40), Dheepan (36), Madan (33) from VDS Nagar, Kathiravan (49) and Karuppusamy (35) from Ganapathy area entered the godown. The executives of the Tamil Nadu Makkal Munntrea Kazhagam argued that the place belonged to them and that he should vacate the godown.
Immediately, Deepak Arora said that he had documents to prove that the land was his. Without listening the 7 people seem to have attacked Deepak Arora and threatened to empty the godown and even made death threats with a scythe. A complaint was lodged with the Saravanampatti police. Inspector Kandasamy registered a case and arrested 7 persons and remanded them in custody.
