With the Tamil Month ‘Purattasi’ considered sacred among Hindus, the Head of Hindu Munnani requested for devotees to be allowed entry into temples during weekends.
Coimbatore: The Hindu Munnani Head, Kadeswara Subramaniam requested for temples to be opened out for devotees during weekends.
“Covid cases have reduced considerably and malls, theatres, schools and TASMAC have resumed functioning, but it is slightly unjust to shutdown temples, especially during the month of Purattasi. Saturdays are especially sacred during this month and yet temples remain shut,” lamented the Hindu Munnani Head.
He urged the Government to relax the restrictions imposed on visiting temples and to allow devotees enter temples during weekends.
