Search squads are using drone cameras to trace the tiger which is yet to be found.
Valparai: A tiger was spotted strolling this morning in Valparai in broad daylight by the workers of Mudis Bazaar.
They reported that they had spotted a tiger crossing the area between Mudis Bazaar and Muthu Mudi Tea Estate on Tuesday morning, while they headed out for work. The workers informed forest officials immediately who have launched a search for the animal.
The Assistant Conservator of Forests, Selvam, Forest Protection Force, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Vijayan, Forest Department doctor, Dr. Sukumaran, Forest Ranger Natarajan and Forester Umar arrived at the spot to trace the tiger.
Drones were employed to track and trap the animal. However, the forest officials are yet to spot the tiger.
Ganesan, District Forest Officer and Assistant Field Director, Anamalai Tiger Reserve also inspected the spot. Over 50 people have been actively involved in the search operation. Locals in Valparai are reportedly fear-stricken at the tiger still being on the loose.
