Coimbatore: An election control room has been set up in Coimbatore ahead of the local government elections.
By-elections were announced for 16 local government vacancies in the district. Of these, three Ward members were elected without acontest.
The District Election Officer said, "The election campaign is going on for the post of Panchayat President, District Panchayat Councillor and Village Panchayat Ward. Accordingly, an election control room has been set up at the Coimbatore District Collectorate. Election related complaints can be lodged at 0422 -230 O712."
