Coimbatore: In a fleet of 40 buses for the Valparai area of Coimbatore district, 25 buses ply from Valparai to 60 estate areas and other buses from Valparai ply to Pollachi, Coimbatore, Tirupur and Palani.
Owing to the heavy rains in Valparai for the past two days, normal life of residents was disrupted.
The Government bus from Valparai to Injiparai Estate returns to Valparai at 7.30 am. The heavy downpour of the past two days caused rainwater to seep into the bus through the roof of the bus. Both local passengers and students were drenched in the bus. Yet, passengers braved the rain and travelled in the bus, standing, because the empty seats could not be occupied due to the leak in the roof of the bus.
