Police have arrested a man from the Kanuvaipalayam area of Coimbatore for hoarding avuttu kai. District SP has directed the police department in the city to intensify patrolling.

Sub-Inspector Munusamy, Karamadai Police Division arrested a 29-year old man in Kanuvaipalayam while he was patrolling. Investigations revealed the accused was Karthik of the same area. He carried seeds that are used to hunt wild boars with him. Karthik was caught by Sub-Inspector Munusamy when the former tried to escape from the place.
Karthik was arrested and his bag was seized. The accused has been booked and remanded to judicial custody.
