Two ambulances parked at Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital caught fire yesterday night

Two ambulances parked near the mortuary located at the back of the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital caught fire causing a stir in the area


Coimbatore: In the mortuary located at the back of the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital located in the heart of Coimbatore two ambulances parked there had caught fire and caused a great stir in the area.

It is customary for government and private ambulances to line up to transport the bodies. At 10 o'clock today, a sudden short circuit occurred and two government ambulances started blazing.



Since it was night time and there were no people in those areas, people who were going to the Cheran Tower area who saw the fire burning continuously informed the fire department.

Following this, the Coimbatore Central Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and extinguished the burning ambulance.



But, by the time they got there 2 ambulances were on fire and completely wrecked.



Casualties in the area were avoided as drivers stopped and went to their room to sleep.
