Advanced Communication Devices to be installed at Coimbatore International Airport

State of art communication devices from JOTRON, Norway and SITTI, Italy are going to be installed at Coimbatore international airport. The installation of the system is being carried out by AAI officials of Communication and Navigation systems (CNS) in coordination with the officials from JOTRON.


Coimbatore: State of art communication devices from JOTRON, Norway and SITTI, Italy are going to be installed at Coimbatore international airport.

Coimbatore International Airport, Director, Senthil Valavan in a press release said, "A Safety assesment study was carried out on 24.09.21 as per DGCA requirements, for the concept, design, and implementation of the advanced communication system. This system operates based on IP (Internet protocol) and have excellent Radio frequency performance in congested areas which means that we can have more frequencies operating in close spaces with considerable reduction in radio interferences. This improves the reliability of communication with ATC and Pilots, hence increases the air safety."

"The system is smaller in size, light weight and consumes less power. when compared to the existing systems the efficiency of the JOTRON system is good. After integrating with VCCS (voice controlled communication system) from SITTI, coimbatore airport will have State of art communication system for safe and effective Air traffic control (ATC)."
