Land dispute: Case filed on Racer Narain and businessman Privithrajkumar at Thondamuthur Police Station

Following a land dispute, the Thondamuthur police have booked Formula One (F1) racer Narain Karthikeyan under Section 339 (wrongful restraint) and Prithvirajkumar under Sections 447 (punishment for criminal trespass) and 427 (mischief causing damage).


Coimbatore: Following a complaint of illegal blocking of a common pathway by wire fencing, the Thondamuthur police have booked Formula One (F1) racer Narain Karthikeyan under Section 339 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police have initiated an FIR based on the complaint by city-based businessman, K Prithvirajkumar.

According to reports, K. Prithivrajkumar and Narain Karthikeyan own adjacent farmlands at Keel Chithirai Chavadi near Thondamuthur, here. The duo were already in a dispute over the piece of land with a common pathway and had moved the District Civil Court for redressal.

The complainant has alleged that recently Narain had blocked the common pathway of the disputed land by erecting a wired fence , while the case is still under trial at the District Civil Court. Based on his complaint, the Thondamuthur police investigated the issue and booked Narain, under Section 339 (wrongful restraint), on Thursday.

Meanwhile on the same day, Narain’s accountant Gokulnath had lodged a police at the Thondamuthur station stating that Privithrajkumar had damaged the wire fencing and trespassed into Narain’s land. Based on his complaint, the Thondamuthur police have also booked Prithvirajkumar under Sections 447 (punishment for criminal trespass) and 427 (mischief causing damage) of the IPC.
