Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Police has introduced a WhatsApp number for the public to provide immediate information on any child marriage taking place in any area under the Coimbatore District.
The directive says that not only relatives but also anyone in the vicinity can provide information of the child marriage.
The District police have been advised to be vigilant about child marriage and take necessary action immediately. In Coimbatore district, crimes against women and children being monitored continuously, awareness of child marriage is being raised to prevent them. The public have been advised to immediately report any information on child marriage to 1098, 94981 81212, 77081 00100 and the details of the complainant will be kept confidential.
