Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner inspects development and sanitation works in the South Zone

Construction of sewage treatment plants and connecting pipes were inspected. Primarily he visited the Health Inspector’s office in Sundarapuram region, ward 100, and checked the employee attendance.


Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner of Coimbatore, Raja Gopal Sunkara IAS inspected the development and sanitation works going on in the South Zone of the district.



Primarily he visited the Health Inspector’s office in Sundarapuram region, ward 100, andchecked the employee attendance. He insisted the cleanliness workers always collect garbage from the public based on degradable and non-degradable wastes and make sure that the public does not dump wastes in open spaces. The commissioner directed the workers to spread awareness on the dangers of mosquito breeding and that they shall not let waters log in any area. Guiding the workers to first safeguard themselves, he also stated that the drainages and canals should be kept free of debris for the free flow of water.



Following that, he inspected the sewage treatment plant constructed in the Vellalore Dumpyard in the north zone and directed the officers to complete the projects faster.



He studied the works done in ward 100, where the laying of connecting pipes for underground drainage is in process between Settipalayam, Eechanari to Railway gate.



The commissioner then headed to the ward 97 and studied the cleaning works done in the rainwater drainage at Kurichi, Ganeshapuram, and Kasturi Garden.



Executive Engineer Gnanavel, Assistant Commissioner, Southern Region, Sundharajan, Assistant Executive Engineer Karuppuswamy, Assistant Engineer Ravikannan, Regional Health Officer Ramu, Health Inspector Rajendran, and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
