Coimbatore: Sudden thunderstorms and rains in Coimbatore this afternoon caused power cuts in Ganapathi regions.
The Ganapathy and Saravanampatti regions suffered power cuts until 6.30 this evening due to sudden rains. The EB members stated that the works were in progress when asked about the power supply. The Ganapathy and Saravanampatti areas are major hubs filled with colleges and IT companies, thus disturbing the routine in the areas.
Rains have been consistently causing power outages in these areas for a long time which needs immediate attention
