Coimbatore: Sudden showers in Coimbatore city on Thursday cooled down soaring temperatures.
Locals who were sweating out under the week's sweltering heat, breathed a sigh of relief as the sudden downpour began.
The city, despite forecasts of rain in the past week had not received any rainfall.
Light rains to thunderstorms in various places lashed across Coimbatore. Gandhipuram, Ukkadam, Collector's Office, Ganapathi, Saravanampatti, Rathinapuri, Maniakarampalayam, Avinashi Road, Chitra Airport, Singanallur, Gandhipuram Bus Stand received good rainfall.
The sudden showers, however, also caused a slight disturbance in the daily routines of people, since the roads were flooded with rainwater.
