Locals rescued the workers and rushed them to the Valparai Government Hospital for treatment
Coimbatore: Kurangumudi Estate is located next to Valparai in Coimbatore district. Over 50 workers who are employed at the Shriram Tea Garden were busy plucking tea leaves as usual on Thursday. More than a dozen workers were engaged in plucking tea at the No. 23 tea estate when poisonous wasps suddenly appeared from a nearby bush and stung the workers.
The workers ran helter skelter in panic. Seven persons including Saraswati, Malar, Vasantha, Jothi, Dhanalakshmi, Perumal and Satish were injured. Locals rescued and sent them to the Valparai Government Hospital where they are being treated.
