Coimbatore: A black flag protest was held in Coimbatore with the participation of various political parties such as the DMK, VCK and CPM, demanding the withdrawal of anti-people agricultural laws by the Union Government. Opposition parties across the country today jointly called for a black flag protest, condemning the Central Government's anti-people laws, including the hike in fuel and cooking gas prices, the Citizenship Amendment Bill, three anti-farmer laws, compulsory NEET for aspiring medical studentstest and the sale of public property to the private sector.
DMK, Congress, CPM, CBI, MDMK and VCK held black flag protests across Tamil Nadu. As part of this, leaders including Marxist Party Coimbatore MP, P R Natarajan and Coimbatore District Secretary, V Ramamurthy took part in a black flag protest in front of the Coimbatore District Committee Office of the Marxist Communist Party in Coimbatore.
Similarly, black flag protests took place at over a 100 locations across the district. DMK executives N Karthik, Paiyya Krishnan, C R Ramachandran, Varadarajan, State Committee members of the Marxist Party, Padmanabhan, Radhika and other leaders alsoparticipated. Earlier, the protesters who were carrying banners, chanted slogans condemning the anti-people laws of the Modi Government.
