Kovai Kutralam reopens again for tourists due to low water inflow

Even as rainfall in catchment areas along Western Ghats reduced, water flow in Kovai Kutralam decreased.

Coimbatore: Due to heavy rainfall in the foothill region of the Western Ghats, Kovai Kutralam had flooded in the past few weeks.

Hence, the Forest Department had banned tourists from visiting the falls since May, leaving tourists disappointed. But, on Monday, the Forest Department cleared tourists to visit Kovai Kutralam since water levels in the falls was low.

District Forest Officer Ashok Kumar stated that tourists who wish to visit Kovai Kutralam have been advised to book online.
