Coimbatore: Special forces have been set up in Tirupur to prevent petty thefts, burglaries, cell phone thefts and to nab criminals in Tirupur. The special forces launched an intensive investigation and arrested Kalidas, Soundrapandian and Abinesh who were involved in a joint robbery at the Tirupur Municipal North police station, and Vijay and Gavin who were involved in a cell phone theft at the 15 Velampalayam police station.
Similarly, at the Thirumuruganpoondi police station, Selvaraja was arrested for trying to extort money. All the six accused have been remanded in judicial custody. It is to be noted that there are various cases registered against these men.
