Coimbatore: ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam,' an initiative of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin to take healthcare services to the doorstep of people was launched in Valparai on Saturday. A training program was also conducted by the Coimbatore District Administration.
Upon the orders of the District Collector, G S Sameeran, Dr. Babu Lakshmanan, Head, PHC presided over the event. Vasuki, Coordinator of Women's Wing was present during the program. The training covered areas such as activities, methods, and training to treat complaints. Dr. Manoj, Health Center physician and Nurse Ilavarasi, Infection unit provided training to the volunteers in the program.
The scheme is mainly launched to help elderly people and those who cannot visit hospitals, especially during the pandemic period.
