Coimbatore: Coimbatore Airport Director, Senthil Valavan in a press release has said, "An anti-hijack mock drill was conducted at Coimbatore airport, today.

The drill took place between 8 am to 9 am in the morning.

As per procedure the Aerodrome Committee was activated.

The Committee assembled at the airport's anti-hijack control room.
The City Commissioner of Police, Deepak Damor, Committee Chairman supervised the mock drill. It was attended by all airlines, IB, police, immigration and CISF, along with various stakeholders of Airports Authority of India.

After the mock exercise, the Committee discussed in detail various measures required in fine tuning the preparedness to face these type of eventualities."
