Ganesan, a youth from Karnataka was arrested in Pollachi under the POCSO Act for allegedly marrying a 17-year old girl.
Coimbatore: Ganesan (22) who hails from Karnataka works for a private spice company in Kinathukadavu. He reportedly fell in love with a 17-year old girl from Pollachi and persuaded her to marry him.
When the girl went missing, the girl's parents lodged a complaint at the Vadakkipalayam police station on September 6. Ganesan brought the girl to the Vadakkipalayam police station on Sunday. When questioned by the police, Ganesan admitted that he was the one who had taken the girl and married her.
The case has been transferred to the Women’s Police branch who investigated Ganesan and then later arrested him under the POCSO Act.
