Coimbatore: Freedom fighter and social activist Immanuel Sekaran’s 64th memorial and Tamil Poet Subramania Bharathiar’s 100th memorial were observed yesterday. A meeting was held in Vadavalli yesterday and Tamilaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam head John Pandian presided the event.
Addressing the gathering, he said, 'Owing to the legendary freedom fighters’ legacy and contributions, the government of Tamil Nadu should meet the requests of the public. The ruling party has been working commendably.'
Also speaking about the party’s alliance ahead of local body elections, he stated that decisions shall be made only after the election announcement. The Tamil Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam has been expeditiously working on meeting the elections.
The event was attended by Tamil Nadu Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam Founder President John Pandian, General Secretary Priscilla Pandian, Coimbatore District President Chandran, City District Treasurer Jayaraj, Udhagai District Secretary Siva, and Coimbatore District Administrators Sundarraj, Advocate Vijayakumar, Muthiah, Prabhu, also known as Coimbatore Kadiravan Pattakar, and others.
