Tirupur: Vinayagar Chaturthi is being celebrated all over Tamil Nadu todayas the impact of the second wave of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu has not decreased.
The Tamil Nadu government has banned the worship of Vinayagar idols in public places. The public is also advised to celebrate Vinayagar Chaturthi in their homes.
In various parts of Tirupur district, the Hindu Munnani has been worshiping Vinayagar idols in privately owned places and they also kept idols in their houses for worship. In addition, about 700 policemen, including 7 Assistant Commissioners and 12 Inspectors, are on security duty on behalf of the Tirupur City Police and about 900 policemen, including 2 ADSPs, 6 DSPs and 34 inspectors, are on duty on behalf of the Tirupur District Police.
