Pollachi State Highways Department demolishes buildings for road widening during complete lockdown
Coimbatore: Pollachi is the main route from Coimbatore to the southern districts. Pollachi - Coimbatore Road 4 way road has been constructed and construction work of four lanes up to Pollachi Dindigul has started.
As part of this, the State Highways Department is involved in widening the narrow roads in Pollachi. Road widening works are being carried out at a cost of Rs. 30 crore by acquiring private and government lands in urban areas for expansion work.
Currently, complete lockdown has been imposed throughout Tamil Nadu and road widening work is being carried out in Pollachi urban areas on behalf of the Highways Department.
Demolition work on the acquired private buildings is underway. The public has demanded to complete the work quickly using this situation where there is no traffic congestion.
