Coimbatore Boarding and Lodging Association agrees to convert 72 hotels into temporary Covid-19 treatment centers at a meeting held at the main Coimbatore Corporation office.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian headed a meeting with the members of the Coimbatore Boarding and Lodging Association on Friday. The Association oversees the large and medium level hotels with restaurant facilities.
The meeting took place at the main Coimbatore Corporation office. In the meeting, a discussion was held to temporarily convert 72 hotels operating within Coimbatore Corporation limits into treatment centers for Covid-19 patients.
At the request of the Commissioner to set up temporary treatment centers following the standard guidelines issued by the Central and State Governments, the members of the Association agreed to set up and run treatment centers immediately after obtaining permission from the Coimbatore District Collector.
