Coimbatore: Rs. 1 lakh collected in one dayas fine for traveling without wearing a mask. Coronavirus spread is increasing day by day in all areas under the Corporation of Coimbatore. The corporation administration is constantly taking various measures to control the spread of infection.
In the last few days, the Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian, had said that spot fines would be levied on those who did not wear masks and did not abide by the social norms. A special flying squad was set up and monitored in 5 zones of Coimbatore Corporation.
Flying squads inspected in several areas yesterdayand a fine of Rs. 1 lakh 3 thousand 500 rupees was levied on the public who traveled without wearing a mask. Awareness notices were given to them and also instructed the shopkeepers to allow only those who wear masks inside the shop.
